Suomen Hyötytuuli ready to start production test run in Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm
Suomen Hyötytuuli will increase its production capacity by approx. 90 megawatts by taking into production its eighth wind farm. The Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm has entered the production test phase and will be taken into use within the next few months.
The Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm, located in Ostrobothnia, Finland, consists of fourteen 6-megawatt wind turbines, delivered by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy AB. The wind farm was constructed during 2021-2023.
”The completion of the Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm will be an important milestone for Suomen Hyötytuuli. Together with the Oosinselkä wind farm, they will nearly double our production capacity. We thank our owners for their contribution to making these investments possible. Our work for cleaner, renewable energy production continues”, says Jaakko Kleemola, Business Development Director, Energy, at Suomen Hyötytuuli.
During the winter, Suomen Hyötytuuli is also expected to complete the Oosinselkä wind farm near Pori on the western coast of Finland, while the construction work at the Siikajoki wind farm continues until the end of 2024. At the completion of these projects, Suomen Hyötytuuli’s total capacity will amount to 650 megawatts and the annual production exceeds 1900 gigawatt hours. The company also has several projects in the development phase, including the Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm Extension project.
