Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy has made the investment decision to build its largest wind farm yet in Siikajoki commune in Northern Ostrobothnia, approx. 50 kilometres from Oulu. The wind farm will consist of 38 wind turbines that produce approx. 700 gigawatt hours annually. The value of the investment is approx. 330 million euros. The company has also two other investment projects in construction phase. When the company completes its current investment projects by the end of year 2025, its total production capacity will be 650 megawatts and the annual production over 1900 gigawatt hours. Suomen Hyötytuuli has an investment portfolio of over 3 billion euros.
”The investment increases our company’s production remarkably and contributes to reaching Finland’s climate goals. We hope that this investment along with the other energy investments will strengthen Finland’s energy independence and security of supply the coming winter and beyond”, says Toni Sulameri, Managing Director of Suomen Hyötytuuli.
Suomen Hyötytuuli has signed agreements for 38 Vestas wind turbines (V162-6.2 MW). 34 of the wind turbines will be in Elenia’s and four in Fingrid’ grid. The construction phase starts at the end of 2022 and the wind farm is expected to be in operation in 2025.
Suomen Hyötytuuli’s wind power production strengthens Finland’s independence of imported fossil fuels and contributes to preventing climate change by producing clean and renewable energy.
